The Earth and Leaf Reference Library

The Earth and Leaf reference library contains links to a wealth of articles researched from the internet by our staff. Generally they are relevant in some way, occasionally they get in simply because we think they are interesting or even funny. We also add our own editorial to each article, explaining its relevance. Sources and authors are always referenced..

This is an adjunct to our Earth and Leaf blog and inevitably there is some crossover. Some material is better referenced in our books which are at Shepherds of the Trees.

Articles are laid out in the Earth and Leaf Reference Library in grid style. You can search by category quite simply by clicking on your choice in the “category” column. There are in here many very well known and respected scientists, journalists and authors. Each article is foreshortened and presented in block quotes. In order to access the full article a download link to the original source is available.

The Earth and Leaf Reference Library is updated daily with New and Interesting Articles

The Earth and Leaf Reference Library
Gawthrop from the Lunds Allotment in Dentdale

Our subject material is scientifically accurate and factually proven. Many subjects are covered, particularly climate change, sustainable agriculture and farming systems. We now know that our planetary biodiversity and our ecosystems are essential to climate stability and we mess around with them at our peril.

There’s a lot of environmental protection stuff in here too. You will see that we are passionate about habitat rehabilitation. However, rewilding is a term we do not think is acceptable because it implies we are anti farming which is far from the case. Farming does have to change in order for our world to survive and this is covered extensively in the Earth and Leaf blog. This will be partly driven by changes in the human diet. Without those changes we cannot halt global warming. Happy reading!
