Sustainability Explained
Sustainability explained – it is really simple.
We all (should) want to live in a sustainable world. The world is our environment. We share this world with billions of other creatures and plants. This world provides our energy needs as food and fuel, but it does so at a huge cost with nearly ten billion humans to support.
Living sustainably means that we manage those resources in such a way that we do not damage our environment.
That damage is clear for all to see as pollution, climate change, deforestation and loss of wildlife.
Sustainability has three pillars. Economic, Environmental and Social.
Each is equally important and each has a section in the drop down menu.
Earth and Leaf focuses on the Environmental pillar which we have subdivided into 5 categories:
Energy is further subdivided into FOOD and FUEL categories
“A machine without energy is a sculpture, An animal without energy is a corpse”

There are some articles related to our topics that are simply of an interesting scientific nature so we have added a Science category for those posts too.
